First property auction of 2026 for Liverpool’s Sutton Kersh Auctions

Sutton Kersh’s first auction of the year hits the 5-million-pound mark. The Liverpool property market has always been one of interest due to the multiple developments and investment opportunities the city presents. Areas of interest still include North Liverpool, in and around Anfield in particular, South Liverpool suburbs, and the City Centre.
This month, Sutton Kersh held its first auction of the year, which saw it sell just over £5 million worth of property. A lot of properties sold for well above their guide prices and made an exciting watch as the bidders saw themselves embroiled in multiple bidding wars!

A few lots that gained exceptional interest were: a one-bed city centre apartment on Rumford Street, which only really needed minor cosmetic work, had a guide price of £40k and sold for £73k.
A 3-bed house on the popular Mather Avenue in the suburb of South Liverpool was in need of a full refurb and sold for £42k over its guide price of £135k.

The auction also featured many stereotypical doer-upper properties, such as the 4-bed mid-terrace house on Douglas Road in L4. This residential investment property was in need of a full refurbishment and modernisation. Once the works are completed, the property has the potential to bring in around £12,000 per annum. This was listed with a guide of £80k and sold for £54k over it.
However, the standout Lot had to be the 4-bed, 3-storey on Langton Road, it had a guide price of £90,000, and after a very lengthy and intense bidding war, it sold for £158,000, a whopping £68,000 over! The potential rental income is approx. £12,000 per annum, making it a great investment property.
Cathy Holt, said:
“The first auction of the year is always a good indication of how things will go for the rest of the year, sales and interest were strong and it looks like buyers are still looking for those occupation-ready and residential investment properties, and we are looking forward to our April one next!)”
Sutton Kersh Auctions has already started taking instructions for their April auction and has got a few city centre apartments and investment opportunities available.
