Wirral’s Local Postal Solutions Named Finalist in Green Growth Awards 2026

Wirral entrepreneur Paul East, founder of Local Postal Solutions, has officially been named a finalist in the prestigious national Green Growth Awards 2026.
This recognition places his business among the Green Growth 100, an elite group of the UK’s most forward-thinking small businesses that are successfully driving commercial growth through environmental sustainability.
Launched by Small Business Britain in partnership with BT, the awards celebrate small firms that prove sustainability can boost the bottom line.
Two top businesses will be awarded a £5,000 sustainability grant during the final ceremony on 12 March 2026.
Paul launched Local Postal Solutions after leaving Royal Mail, building a highly efficient, localised mail and parcel network that serves the Wirral community by bypassing national sorting hubs to dramatically reduce travel distances and emissions.
Innovative Sustainable Delivery in Wirral

The business operates with environmental responsibility at its core. Currently, over 90% of deliveries are completed by bicycle, with the remainder handled by electric vehicles.
This localised approach reduces the average distance travelled per item by approximately 50 miles while ensuring priority items are delivered within 30 hours.
Customers also benefit from significant savings, often paying 25% to 50% less than they would with national courier services.
By keeping deliveries local, Paul supports a circular economy model.
He partners with independent high street shops that host post boxes, which in turn benefits those businesses through increased footfall.
Reduced fuel use and simplified logistics enable Local Postal Solutions to operate at a lower cost than traditional couriers, demonstrating that environmentally responsible practices enhance long-term profitability.
Leading the Way to Net Zero
Speaking about being named a finalist, Paul East said:
“Every day when I wake up I’m a postie, that’s my job, it’s what I do. When I wake up on 12th March, I’ll be a proud business owner, a visionary and a sustainability hero, at least for a day.”
Paul also highlighted the vital support of vehicle sponsor Automotive Accident Assist, who provided the electric vehicle “Mia” to support the company’s operations.
Regarding the partnership, Paul noted:
“They’ve effectively placed the final piece in the jigsaw by sponsoring the use of their electric vehicle, Mia.
“In 2026, this will allow us to become the first ‘net zero’ mail and parcel courier in the UK.”
The Green Growth Awards recognise businesses that are cutting waste and rethinking supply chains to attract customers through responsible innovation.
Local Postal Solutions exemplifies this approach, combining environmental responsibility with operational efficiency to strengthen the Wirral community.
The final winners of the Green Growth Awards 2026 will be announced on 12 March.
