Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Announces New Director of Employment, Skills and Inclusion

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has appointed Claire Blott as its new Director of Employment, Skills and Inclusion.
Claire will officially take up the role on Monday, 1 June, following four years as Assistant Director of Policy and Strategy at the Combined Authority.
In her previous capacity, she led major strategy, policy, and commissioning programmes, playing a key role in shaping the region’s approach to inclusive economic growth.
Throughout her tenure, Claire supported the early devolution of the Adult Education Budget and led the development of the Liverpool City Region’s 10-year Local Growth Plan.
In her new position, she will oversee the Combined Authority’s Skills and Careers, alongside Employment Support and Inclusion programmes.
Extensive Experience in Regional Government
Claire brings extensive experience to the role, having held senior positions in regional and central government.
Her career includes time at the Skills Funding Agency and the National Apprenticeship Service, where she focused on driving large-scale programmes and building partnerships across the public, private, and community sectors.
Executive Director of Investment and Delivery, Tim Games, shared his support for the appointment, stating:

Her leadership will be central to the Combined Authority’s efforts to align local skills with the region’s evolving economic landscape.
