Sutton Kersh held their final auction of the year

Sutton Kersh has held their final auction of the year, bringing their total property sales value to just under 50 million pounds.
The Liverpool-based property auction house is prominent within the auction industry, has been going for 23 years and has seen many highs and lows within the property market throughout this time.
However, this year has been the strangest for the business, with unexpected high sales and a few lows thrown in for good measure!!
Despite selling 414 lots throughout the year, there has been a shift in buyers’ demands, for example, smaller projects such as refurbishment and modernisation in 2/3 bed homes have been exceptionally popular all around Merseyside. In previous years, it was pockets in North Liverpool & South Liverpool, but this year it is more evenly distributed.
Also, the bigger properties like 3-storey mixed-use properties or Large developments with the opportunity to convert into multiple apartments have been a slower sell, so although the sales still happen, these specific Lots often sold post-auction as buyers are more cautious with uncertainties in government & budgets to make those investments.
This year has also seen a considerable increase in move-in-ready properties, as sellers are enjoying the speed and simplicity of an auction sale.

Cathy Holt, Associate Director of Sutton Kersh Auctions, comments:
“Its been an exciting year for us, its great the sales are still strong but there has been a definite change in buyer seller needs & demands which has kept us on our toes for sure! Its also been brilliant for us as more Lots from further afield have been instructed to us to sell and we’ve so had a huge surge of new buyers & sellers which has been the highest increase in the last few years, which again will be brilliant for 2026”.
